Emacs
From BRL-CAD
There are a variety of settings that you can put into your .emacs configuration file that will make life easier when working with BRL-CAD sources. Additionally, installing cmake-mode.el into your ~/.emacs.d/ directory will help with editing of build system files.

If you install the aforementioned cmake-mode, you'll need these extra lines in your .emacs file in order to enable the mode:
(add-to-list 'load-path "~/.emacs.d") (require 'cmake-mode) (setq auto-mode-alist (append '(("CMakeLists\\.txt\\'" . cmake-mode) ("\\.cmake\\'" . cmake-mode)) auto-mode-alist))
