BRL-CAD has a relatively new logo and the website is undergoing major changes. So this re-branding of BRL-CAD also requires a good, well designed and attractive cover photo for the BRL-CAD's Facebook page and other social media facades. It should feature a good tagline (our official is ""open source solid modeling"") or showcase some killer feature of BRL-CAD, BRL-CAD's new logo and/or some illustration/image regarding the feature highlighted.
It should be consistent with the color scheme of our new website design. Please avoid a military-centric theme and cheesy bylines (you can use ""Open Source Solid Modeling"" or something else simple). Make it look impressive, awesome. Be simple, but be awesome.

Submit one image of the banner image by itself and another example mock-up image showing how it will look on our Facebook page. Any image format will do just fine.
There are duplicates of this task as we solicit ideas and inspiration. Look at the other completed GCI ""facebook"" tasks and make yours look even better. Do not claim more than one without discussing with us first

Quentin, first of all, you didn't upload the raw format(psd, xcf). Secondly, the text is difficult to read, try to remove the effect and change the font to a more readable one(sans serif, times new roman or any other that's readable)
Also, the arrow looks ok, but it's too much pink overall. Either reduce the pink by removing one of the elements or change them in a manner you decide. Be creative!

Well, please consider the following points to make your design look better:
First of all, The logo you used is a bit blurry. For logo refer the link http://brlcad.org/wiki/Logo
Purpose of arrows is unclear from your design. Where are they pointing and why ?
Shadow used in tagline makes it difficult to read.
Also keep in mind the dimensions of facebook cover photo. Refer this link for dimensions https://www.facebook.com/help/125379114252045
Apart from all above, when you are done with your design, make a mockup version of it. So that we can get an idea of how it would look when we use it on our facebook page.

This is nice and simple but it's way too simple. Just slapping in our logo and BRL-CAD won't cut it as you need to demonstrate more creativity. The more simple the design, the more powerful the design elements must be. Your design basically doesn't have much in terms of design elements, purpose, or your own stylistic elements beyond the font you selected.
Please try again, and be creative! I'm sure you can come up with something beautiful. :)
Remember to submit a preview as well as your raw working files (e.g., in psd or xcf format).

Quentin, this is looking a LOT better but you're still using an old version of our project logo. As Gauravjeet mentioned, you should use one of the logos at http://brlcad.org/wiki/Logo
Fix the logo with a better version, and this will probably be done. Remember to upload your raw PSD as well as a PNG preview.
