BRL-CAD's new modeling interface, archer, displays a splash screen when you start the program. This is what it currently looks like:

There are several problems with that image. It uses our old logo. It references the wrong website. It has a massive pointless ""icon"". It proclaim's archer being trademarked (distracting).
Your task is to design a completely new splash screen that has none of those problems, is visually interesting, optionally incorporates our new logo, and optionally references our main website (brlcad.org).
Check out some of the other design tasks for inspiration. Make yours look even more impressive, artistically interesting. ;)
Submit your image in whatever raw working format you use (e.g., psd), preferably something with layers in case we need to change anything, but also submit a final png image as well.

First of all you should upload the editable format as well (xcf, psd etc)
I suggest you check out some other design tasks for inspiration, but here are some suggestions:
-the background it too powerfully colored, it would make text difficult to write on it.
-you should use our exact logo, rather than just it's resemblance(form, 3 circles)
-the name is BRL-CAD, not BRLCAD

Good going mukul. Well this design could become really interesting and awesome if you consider the following suggestions
First of all you need to get a high quality logo. Get it from http://brlcad.org/wiki/Logo
Secondly prefer simple backgrounds, if you want some textured background, search for some minimal grunge background. Choose some light colored background, and write text with dark color.

Your designs are interesting, but rather generic in nature. Plus it looks like you have not put the required effort into your design. This task should take you several hours minimum. Please see some of the other completed GCI splash screen tasks to understand what level of quality is expected. I'm confident you can improve upon your designs with a bit more research.

Mukul, this design is still overly generic and unusable. If you have questions or need help, please ask how we can help. Have you looked at some of the other splash screen designs? Have you tried running any of BRL-CAD's graphical tools to maybe try creating a 3D image you could use in your design? I can itemize the technical issues with this design, but the overall approach being taken needs to be reconsidered.
Just adding another image on top of this isn't going to work. Those square boxes around the logo image and the image you just added will not work (and we don't have license to use that image anyways).

Did you design that background? If you did not, you should provide attribution (i.e., credit) when you create something that is built on the efforts of others. Otherwise, that is a form of plagiarism and is not acceptable. Given the generic and promotional nature of that background, I'm going to assume you did not create it.
As that is the dominant visual design element of your proposed splash screen, this will not work. GCI submissions need to be *original* works, i.e., something that you entirely create. Using images you find on the web, especially when it's the dominant characteristic of what you're submitting, is not an original work.
I honestly think you should try to draw a picture using pen and paper, scan it in, and submit that as a splash screen design. You could try to draw our logo or our mascot (a moose). I hope you'll try again after your time is extended.

Regarding your query, No, you can't use ms paint, You are suggested to use some software package that supports layers like gimp or photoshop. Also ms paint will limit your creativity as it lacks certain features.
