BRL-CAD has a relatively new logo and the website is undergoing major changes. So this re-branding of BRL-CAD also requires a good, well designed and attractive cover photo for the BRL-CAD's Facebook page and other social media facades. It should feature a good tagline (our official is ""open source solid modeling"") or showcase some killer feature of BRL-CAD, BRL-CAD's new logo and/or some illustration/image regarding the feature highlighted.
It should be consistent with the color scheme of our new website design. Please avoid a military-centric theme and cheesy bylines (you can use ""Open Source Solid Modeling"" or something else simple). Make it look impressive, awesome. Be simple, but be awesome.

Submit one image of the banner image by itself and another example mock-up image showing how it will look on our Facebook page. Any image format will do just fine.

First of all you forgot to upload the raw editable format(.psd, .xcf)
Secondly, you might want to look at other banner tasks:
- I like that you ve used the BRL-CAD logo as the central focus of the banner
- The banner is too simple, it consists of a logo with styled writing, then a grey background that
covers most of the section
-be creative, leave your own mark through the design, it's a real chance to actually use your design on our website, this is not a "dummy" task !

That's a lot better, but is there a reason you put the keyboard there? I doesn't seem to have to do anything with BRL-CAD.
Also the "BRL-CAD" writing is purple, and a bit too intense, if you want to, you can use the same color as the logo has( pale red-ish)
Similarly, you could write open source modeling in black, or a color that fits.
To sum up, you don't have to follow necessarily what I said(except the keyboard), just try to find a better color balance/harmony
