BRL-CAD's new modeling interface, archer, displays a splash screen when you start the program. This is what it currently looks like:

There are several problems with that image. It uses our old logo. It references the wrong website. It has a massive pointless ""icon"". It proclaim's archer being trademarked (distracting).

Your task is to design a completely new splash screen that has none of those problems, is visually interesting, optionally incorporates our new logo, and optionally references our main website (brlcad.org).

Check out some of the other design tasks for inspiration. Make yours look even more impressive, artistically interesting. ;)

Submit your image in whatever raw working format you use (e.g., psd), preferably something with layers in case we need to change anything, but also submit a final png image as well.

You are going good. I just felt there can be some improvements in this design. So here are my suggestions for this design:

First of all it looks a bit over crowded, like too much things in a very little space. You can fix it by decreasing the font size of "BRL-CAD" a little, not much.

Secondly the model of tyre used is not much attractive, you can use some attractive model. See if you can find some interesting model. For example you can use arc reactor model Here is the link to it: http://www.google-melange.com/gci/task/view/google/gci2013/6743699144835072 Go for file named ArcReactor with glow without glow.zip. If you can find some more interesting model then go for that. Let's make the best out of your design.

Also you can decrease the font size of visit us line in the bottom.

It's much better as compared to previous one. Nicely done.

Just a few more quick suggestions..

The text used to show features is not much readable. I would rather see a simple written text in a bit smaller size not much.

Use some light shade of grey for background of features text.

There is more scope of decreasing the font size of bottom line "Visit us" one.

Use the front side of arc reactor it's better as compared.
