The website of BRL-CAD is undergoing significant changes. We have a design mockup at http://cpp-tricks.com/brlcad/ and http://beta.brlcad.org but there are various aspects that we know could use improvement. One of those is the main page that will be presented when someone goes to http://brlcad.org
This style guide can be use for consistency or you can try to impress us with something different: http://www.google-melange.com/gci/work/download/google/gci2013/5844328496758784?id=5649050225344512
Redesign the front page of our web site. The only requirement is to adhere to a consistent visual style and make it impressive. Be creative. The output should be 2 design files, one for large screen, and one for small screens (e.g., mobile). The format can be images or html/css/javascript mockup.
Submit your design in whatever raw editable format you used along with a screenshot in png format. Also submit a brief write-up (this can be a txt file upload or detailed in a comment) telling us why is it an improvement over existing design.

Before I claim this task, I just have few questions. So your current website is the existing/old site you've written above, and it has to be designed like the updated website. Do I have to redesign the updated website or the first/old website? And, am I able to put even more things/design to the website than your updated website has?
Greetings
I would like to work on this task.
This task has been assigned to Yash. You have 100 hours to complete this task, good luck!
Note: This is only a concept. The actual website might differ a little in size, alignment, etc.
I put a 3D background which looks good and goes in accordance with the CAD theme.
The beta website has a login form which is totally unnecessary to put at the front. No new user would ever want to register an account straightaway.
The download and github links are there for ease to any new person who's heard of BRL-CAD from outside sources and wants to download it immediately.
I replaced the "Reasons to Choose BRL-CAD" with a software description which sounds less "commercial."
Changed the left-right aligned reasons to give a more neat look. Also added some icons which intensify the cleanliness.
The footer - This, I am not sure of, I put what I felt was relevant. The social media icons so the user could connect with us.
The PSD is fully layered and can be converted into a website.
The work on this task is ready to be reviewed.
Yash, awesome work!
Congratulations, this task has been completed successfully.
