Design a T-Shirt for BRL-CAD #4BRL-CAD
Status: ClosedTime to complete:
100 hrs
Mentors: Popescu Andrei, Hardeep Singh RaiBeginner
This task involves designing a T-Shirt for BRL-CAD. Use your designing skills to design a T-Shirt for BRL-CAD. You can use the current BRL-CAD logo, or you may tweak it. Be creative while designing this T-Shirt. It would be good if the design has some special meaning.

You are encouraged to discuss and share progress with the developers for interactive feedback. Look at some of the other completed GCI design tasks for inspiration but create an original work. Submit your artwork as raw editable files (ideally with layers in case we need to edit the design) and join the brlcad-news mailing list to hear if we use your design at some point in the future.
Be awesome, be creative. Make yours better than the rest. ;)

The background color of center BRL-CAD and the logo at top is not same. Also you haven't given any design for the back side of t-shirt. T-shirt used must have some color at-least. You can get transparent svg and png logos from http://brlcad.org/wiki/logo. You have sufficient time to do the task, be more creative and let's make a better t-shirt design this time. :)

Per the task description, you also need to submit raw editable files (like a PSD file), ideally with layers. Example: http://www.google-melange.com/gci/task/view/google/gci2013/5003400005550080

In the front design, the logo at the top is slightly stretched in vertical direction and it makes no sense to use two logos on same side. Further, the designs for front and back are exactly the same and that looks unpleasant. You have used separate t-shirt backgrounds for front and back side which make it look like designs for two different t-shirts.
Further as Ishwerdas stated, the t-shirt must have some color. In your current designs, there is only an outline but no color. Whatever color you choose for the t-shirt, it should stand out from the background which is not there in your current designs.
You need to put more efforts to induce creativity into your designs. You can have a look at the previous years work for ideas and inspiration. One the links have already been referred by Sean in his recent comment.
Good luck!

Hello,
Awesome progress on the current design for the T-shirt and following +Harman's and +Ishwerdas' recommendations, I suggest
For Front design,
Remove the BRL-CAD Open source from the front and leave it for the back of the T-shirt, and move the logo, downwards towards the "D" word for the BRL-CAD at the front.
Back Design,
I suggest you move it downwards some few inches so as to centralize similar to the front BRL-CAD.
Kudos on current progress.
Cheers!

Hello,
Looks like you swapped my suggestions.
Let's try this,
1.) Move the BRL-CAD open source to the back and the logo to the front.
2.) The logo should be very small to just around the chest pocket.
3.) You could even add a little quote below the small logo in front by Mike Muuss.
4.) Try another color for the T-shirt; and let's see how it goes.
Awesome work!

I was suggesting underneath the BRLCAD logo at the front of the t-shirt a small quote in subscript would be nice(*not required*).

Front is perfect,
Just a little tweak,
1.) just remove the BRLCAD logo from the back, and it's good to go :)
Awesome!
