BRL-CAD got a relatively new logo. The website is undergoing major changes. So this re-branding of BRL-CAD also requires a good, well designed and attractive cover photo for the BRL-CAD's Facebook page and other social media facades. It should feature a good tagline (our official is "open source solid modeling") or showcase some killer feature of BRL-CAD, BRL-CAD's new logo and/or some illustration/image regarding the feature highlighted.
It should be consistent with the color scheme of our new website design. Please avoid a military-centric theme and cheesy bylines (you can use "Open Source Solid Modeling" or something else simple). Make it look impressive, awesome. Be simple, but be awesome.

Submit one image of the banner image by itself and another example mock-up image showing how it will look on our Facebook page. Any image format will do just fine.
There are duplicates of this task as we solicit ideas and inspiration. Look at the other completed GCI "facebook" tasks and make yours look even better. Do not claim more than one without discussing with us first.

Absolutely okay to submit more than one, but you shouldn't claim more than one design task of the same topic. Let others have a chance too. ;)

In fact, I think more ideas would be good to see. This one that you've submitted is a bit too simple as a collage of our gallery images. A collage is really hard to pull off in a way that looks appealing and uniform, artistic. Sticking to just one or two basic shapes as contours would probably work better. Or emphasizing some specific feature. Or something beautiful in detail, etc. Note that you'll have to be careful with the logo if it's going to be big and prominent in the middle there. The black part over a dark background is going to be hard to discern.
Is there anything I need to change about this design? (And I'll try to do different tasks then, in that case.)

I actually thought about contrasting the black gear for the logo so I had rearranged the pictures so that a white picture would be behind the black gear :)
