BRL-CAD got a relatively new logo. The website is undergoing major changes. So this re-branding of BRL-CAD also requires a good, well designed and attractive cover photo for the BRL-CAD's Facebook page and other social media facades. It should feature a good tagline (our official is "open source solid modeling") or showcase some killer feature of BRL-CAD, BRL-CAD's new logo and/or some illustration/image regarding the feature highlighted.
It should be consistent with the color scheme of our new website design. Please avoid a military-centric theme. Make it look impressive, awesome. Be simple, but be awesome.

Submit one image of the banner image by itself and another example mock-up image showing how it will look on our Facebook page. Any image format will do just fine.

Not specific but we recommend not to use military centric theme. As suggested in task description, you can highlight one of the hot features of BRL-CAD in creative way while keeping the design simple and clean.
Just keep in mind that color scheme of banner should be similar to that of new webste design.

This isn't the way it should work. It's been 9 days and you have not shown any work regarding this task. This time make it sure to show some interesting design before this 3 day term ends.
Answering your question, You already got reference to new website, logo and even features of BRL-CAD. I would suggest to explore BRL-CAD and acknowledge yourself with it's features and come up with a cover image that is focussed on the feature you liked the most.

This is some decent design, good work. This is something enough to close this task. I was looking for the raw files but couldn't find them. So can you upload the raw files too. Here raw files mean the default files of the software you used.

Palindrome, this looks great but are those the only raw files you have? How did you composite the images underneath the logo? I was expecting a photoshop file with multiple layers, but there's only one layer. With multiple layers, we could change the three images behind the logo. Already flattened, we cannot. If that's all you have, that's fine but hopefully you have a version with layers. If you have another version with layers, you can mail it to devs@brlcad.org since I'm going to close this task as accepted.
