GANALYZE(1)

NAME

ganalyze - command-line interface to BRL-CAD geometry analysis capabilities

On this page

SYNOPSIS

ganalyze

DESCRIPTION

ganalyze is a command-line front end to the analysis routines provided by BRL-CAD’s libanalyze library. It presents a command-driven prompt from which geometry analysis operations can be requested.

ganalyze runs in one of two modes, selected automatically according to how it is invoked:

Interactive mode

When standard input is a terminal, ganalyze presents an interactive ganalyze: prompt with line editing and command history. The special input clear screen clears the terminal, and q or quit exits the program.

Batch mode

When standard input is not a terminal, ganalyze reads commands from standard input one line at a time, which allows it to be driven from a script or a pipeline.

The command interpreter is under active development; at present it recognizes only a small set of commands (for example a draw command that names an object, and q / quit to exit). Unrecognized commands and commands given the wrong number of arguments are reported without terminating the session.
