BRL-CAD was selected to participate in the 2013 Google Summer of Code Doc Camp. A team of contributors got together in California, brainstormed, and wrote an entire book for BRL-CAD in just a few days. They created a guide for contributing to BRL-CAD.
You will design a layout for the book. You will likely need to research the different structural elements in the book book (i.e., code blocks, blockquotes, special quotes for commands, for manpages, etc.) and everything around like a front page, the font, etc. You will likely need to use the actual Doc Camp book content (at least some pages) to demonstrate a complete layout design.
Submit your design as a .pdf, .odt, set of images, or ask about other formats. Submit an editable format so we can make changes if needed. You're welcome to submit a rendered preview too.

After looking through your documentation and the manual found in this task's reference links, I wrote down all the elements that I had to design, to make sure I wouldn't miss anything. These are :

These might seem basic things, but working at a very high file dimension and resolution, I had to make sure everything was properly designedpositioned, taking into account margin and padding, typography, color scheme and user experience. Hope my design meets your expectations, and I'll be waiting for feedback on it.

This looks really nice to me. I like the attention you placed on each of the elements of the book, particularly the code blocks and images. The headings also look quite nice.
P.S. We may make a followon task to actually apply this layout to the whole book.
