Design a BRL-CAD Sticker #7BRL-CAD
Status: ClosedTime to complete: 72 hrs Mentors: SeanTags: design, 2D, 3D, sticker, artwork, concept, photoshop, gimp

This task involves designing a BRL-CAD sticker. Make it look good, something you'd be proud to give to all of your friends and family. Look over some great sticker designs before starting to work on this, including the other completed GCI sticker designs by others.

Simple is good.  Using our formal (the three circles) or informal (moose antlers) logo is great.  Please avoid any military theme (no tanks!), do not use our old eagle logo, but do put a dash in BRL-CAD.

There is no bound shape for the shape of the sticker.  It can be rectangular, circular, or even irregular shaped.  The only thing that matters is that it look really cool.

Submit your artwork in any file format, but ideally with transparency settings so we can print them properly.  (png or psd work well).  Give your name so we can credit you if you like as well and join our brlcad-news mailing list to hear if we use your sticker design.

Sean on December 21 2013 10:19 UTCsimple is good

Simple is good, but this is a little too simple.  It's rather bland (color-wise, design-wise) and that's makes it come across as unattractive or at least uninteresting.

It's good but It can be more better.

In the horizontal design you have choosen a black background, so I am not able to see the CAD word and the third circle of logo.

I would suggest to go with brl-cad_sticker1. In this

The text seems widend to me, I guess it is because of the font you are using. So choose a different and better font.

Also your text layers are not text layer in psd file. I can't check the font you are using.

Hiii Gauravjeet

As you said in horizontal design there is a black background But in actual it is Grey in color.

And in Second design that is brl-cad_sticker1 I use Open Sans font in all Text layers

Can You Suggest me Some fonts to use in design to overcome the limitations.

Thanks

Regards.

Deep Inder

Gauravjeet Singh on December 21 2013 12:52 UTCRe:Gauravjeet

From Black I meant that it's dark, there should be some contrast b/w foreground and background.

So in horizontal one I would suggest to lighter the shade of grey.

And font is same in both designs. so widened text problem exists.

In both designs, consider the following font suggestion

Open sans is a good font. Use Open sans light for BRL-CAD and open sans for everything else.

And don't render the text layers. This means your text layer in raw file should be editable. I should able to change text using text tool.
